Sustainable Norcross, Inc. was established in 2008 and approved in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) IRS tax-exempt, non-profit corporation. It was created to engage the public in sustainability and environmental stewardship at the individual and community levels through education, community outreach and volunteerism.

Our purpose is to educate the citizens and advise the mayor and council regarding sustainability and environmental matters through development of a measured sustainable city plan and regular communication.

The commission assists the City in certification of the Green Communities Certification issued by the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) as described on the ARC website and further described on the City of Norcross Certification.
